Madawaska lodge on site guide

Attention: From September, the morning and night will be cold or very cold, please bring more clothes. If you are cabin guests, please make sure you want the wood cabin, it is with an outhouse (google outhouse for definition), outhouse photos are in the listing already, not a washroom, public washrooms are in the main lodge building. All photos are on our website to see the differences. We do have other types of accommodations: hotel rooms and a cottage (house) with a full kitchen. Let us know if want to switch. Please note cabin is a cabin, not a house, not a hotel room. We have all those 3 types of accommodations. cabins are 3 seasons (which means no heating, no insulation when cold, it is very cold), they may be open in winter but only for people who have winter camping experience before (the temperature was -36c degrees last winter). but the Lodge’s main building and cottage (house) are open 365 days a year, we set up 20C degrees in winter for them, and they all have furnaces. . Check the weather before you come: ” Madawaska, Ontario, Canada”. Again, all information is on our website and Facebook page, please spend 5 minutes on them. Thanks.

Check-In (3pm or later): By each family, to fill out the CHECK-IN form —-> show ID(per family)—> CAD$500 security deposit. —-> Wifi—-> this webpage (QR) —-> get the key—-> show the room and property
Check out time 10am, check the room —> deposit refund( leave the key in the door if no one to be seen). Charges will apply to guests for any damaged or missing items or unclaimed additional persons/people ($100/per person/day).
Quiet time 10pm ; no outdoor shoes, no food and beverage in the bedroom or inside the cabin; no outdoor shoes in the room, recreational room, lodge upstairs; smoking in designated areas only and cigar tails in cigar bin, no smoking inside; No outside firewood allowed. No wood pickup on the property. Firewood/charcoal , $10. propane $20/day,. Beer $5-$7, non-alcohol $2; dinners(Wed-Sun) must be reserved one day before.
Free public areas, from 8am to 10pm, Main lodge door open, including public washrooms. pool table. AV system, Dart, board games, books. (only Karaoke/KTV system is rental)
Free k-cup coffee at dish washing station (one cup per person per day). Cabin guests only:
Free Algonquin day use ticket ($21 value, first come, first serve)
Lodge recreational room: AV system: turn on the receiver, projector, apple tv(CBL, HDMI1) or blue ray player (Blu Ray, HDMI 1). Karaoke/KTV HDMI2

Rentals: $30/per day for kayak/canoe/SUPs at the waterfront; $100 for motor boat ( boat license not required )
Recommendation 1: cross lake, 900 meters trail hike to the waterfront with kayak/canoe/SUPs there, trailhead at end of the road next to Garage/Greenhouse, or driving 1 minute to the boat launch with a Jon boat there.
Recommendation 2: bark lake, 10 minutes driving to Bark lake public beach and boat launch for swimming, picnic, or boating. Google maps: Tom and Mick Murray Millennium Park.
Recommendation 3: 62 Ottawa st, Whitney ( right at the east gate of Algonquin park. https://airbnb.com/h/newdragongate002 ), need a reservation beforehand

Cross lake(Lyell) , good for fishing, swimming, paddling, kayaking/SUP/Canoe at the waterfront. to walk the trail 1km to the lakeside to get those watercraft. Or 1minute driving to the boat launch

15 minutes to horse riding: Highland Wilderness Tours
15 minutes to Lake St Peter provincial park
15 minutes to Maynooth: gas station, grocery store, liquor store, fishing supplies, breakfast/lunch
